WELCOME!

The women’s semi-annual rummage sale was a huge success. It was a cool and it rained all day. Somehow that seemed to keep the shoppers coming all day. A huge thanks to everyone involved in the set up for the sale, who worked the day of the sale, and to those who helped clean up and store everything.

We finally had a Gospel Hoedown this quarter. Shannon changed the dates a couple of times to avoid other events in the area and the holiday but as always we had a good turn out and some great singing.

Regional Pastor Rick Hamilton will bring the message on June 7th. Rick was last here a couple of years ago before Bro. Steven was named pastor.

You may have noticed a donation box for the Thanksgiving Service Dinner in the foyer. We will be hosting this year’s service for the group of 6 churches. Because we feel there will be a large crowd, we are planning on possibly catering a small meal for our guests. The donations will be used toward the purchase of the meal. Thanks in advance for all donations.

PASTOR'S CORNER by Rev. Steven Sherrill

When you hear the word blessing, what comes to mind? We use the word in a variety of ways. We speak of saying the blessing over a meal, or praying that God will bless others. When someone sneezes we say, “Bless you.”

As Christians we are called give the blessing of God to others. To bless another person means to speak well of them, to honor them, to praise them, to affirm them, and to seek their highest good. Everyone needs praise and affirmation. The greatest gift we can give another person is praise, which builds their confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.

So, who is it that you need to bless? Who is it that you need to honor, praise, affirm, and seek the highest good for? I encourage you seek them out this week and intentionally bless them.

“From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.” (John 1:16)

Always in His Ways,

Bro. Steven
